Arts, Culture, & Worship presented by Sunita & James Puleo / NB 203
Why should we honor and cultivate cultural traditions in our worship and art? God values our cultural expressions (Rev. 21:24), and our brothers and sisters in Christ need to hear and see diverse reflections to better understand and love our big God and one another. Every people group’s voice is needed in God’s complex symphony, but often we don’t take the time to create and worship in our true heart languages. And if we do, we often don’t know how to unify our diverse voices in worship. In this workshop we’ll learn about the importance of cultural traditions in worship, and then we’ll take some time to create culturally informed, multidisciplinary worship pieces based on a Scripture passage. Note: all art disciplines– visual, musical, theatrical and movement– can be incorporated into our worship pieces.

We are fortunate to live in a time where so many discussions are had via podcasts, the media, and even amongst our friends and loved ones, but as Christians, who is the authority that informs all of our opinions? The answer is simple: Jesus Christ. The One who gives us our identity.
